  • Dates and Times of Operation

  • Check-in/Check-out Time

Check-In time is after 2:00 PM, but before 10pm (early check in may sometimes be permitted depending on availability, but not guaranteed).

Check-Out Time is before 12:00 Noon.

The time between check-out and check-in is to allow the host time to ensure the campsite is clean, damage free and ready for use by the next camper.

In our Campgrounds, if a campsite was unoccupied the night before or if the host has already checked the campsite, you may be allowed to check in early, but we can not guaranteed an early check-in and you may have to wait until 2pm. Please check with the on-site host before occupying a campsite earlier than 2pm.

    First Come First Serve (FCFS)

FCFS campers can arrive anytime from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm to check-in to available campsites.

    Reservations

The most popular campsites (all sites during the summer months), are quite often booked back to back and we need time to check the site to ensure it is ready for the next camper. With many campers all checking-out at noon, reservation holders might NOT be able to check-in early. If you have a reservation, please do not arrive at the campground prior to 2 pm.

    Group Sites

For Group Sites, early check-in is NOT available. We can not offer an early check-in for any of our group sites.
Quite often group sites are booked back to back and we need to wait for the previous camper to check out and return the key, then the host needs to check the site to ensure it is ready for the next camper.
As well our hosts have other duties and obligations prior to 2 pm and we can not guarantee anyone will be available prior to 2 pm to issue out the gate key.
I’m sorry we can not honor request for an early key pick up.

  • Campsite Must Be Occupied Overnight

Please remember that your site must be occupied overnight for the purpose of camping.

Parking a vehicle in one site and camping in another site does not comply with Forest Recreation Regulations listed below. You must be camping in your site.

Holding a site for someone else or leaving a tent or trailer in a site unattended overnight is NOT permitted even if the site is paid for.

    Forest Recreation Regulations:

A person who brings a tent or recreational vehicle to a recreation site and does not camp, is in contravention of the Forest Recreation Regulations 20 (1)(c); as per below:

    Limitations on occupancy and use
20   (1) A person who camps at a recreation site where a fee for camping is required under section 22 must
    (a) camp in a campsite;
    (b) occupy only one campsite;
    (c) not leave personal property on a campsite unless the person is camping, under the authority arising from payment of the camping fee, at that campsite, or has been authorized to leave the property on the campsite by a recreation officer.

Any camping fees paid, will be considered forfeit and no refund will be provided.

  • Can I Hold a Campsite for a Friend

NO. You can NOT hold a site for a friend, this is not considered being occupied by the intended camper.

    Also See:
Can I Pay Now and Come Back Later to Camp?
    Campsite Must Be Occupied Overnight

  • Can I Pay Now and Come Back Later to Camp?

When you arrive and pay your camping fees, you must be prepared to start camping immediately.

You are not allowed to arrive, pay for a site and then leave to get your camping unit (tent/RV). This is considered to be Site Claiming, and is not permitted by RST BC.

You are not allowed to leave personal property on a campsite unless the person is camping. Placing personal property in a campsite to claim it is not considered to be occupying the site for the purpose of camping. Anyone found doing this, your property will be removed (at the owners expense), your camping permit will be voided and no refund will be provided.

  • How Many People/Tents/Trailers/Vehicles per Campsite
Please see each Campground or Group Site Page for list of campsite size and Tent/Trailer/RV max size limits.

Restrictions on the number of vehicles, people/tents/trailers/vehicles per site vary because all sites are different sizes and can accommodate a different number of vehicles/people.

    • All camping items must be contained within the developed portion of your campsite.
    • The host is allowed to restrict the number of campers in a site if they feel that noise will become an issue or if the site is becoming overcrowded.
    • The original permit/reservation holder is responsible for ALL their guest.
    • All extra vehicles not included in your camping or reservation fees, must pay cash upon arrival for a overnight/camping permit. (see Rates for more information).
    Choosing an Appropriate Site
    • We request that you choose a site that is appropriate for your camping needs. If you have two vehicles camping together, and can comfortably fit in one single site and will not surpass the max occupancy limit, please only take a single site instead of a double site or two individual sites. This will allow another family the opportunity to camp. Thank you for your consideration.
How Many People Can I have on a Site?
    • Single Campsite max site occupancy 6 people on campsite (fee includes first vehicle)
    • Double Campsite max site occupancy 12 people on campsite (fee includes first 2 vehicles)
    • Triple Campsite max site occupancy 18 people on campsite (fee includes first 3 vehicles)

Please see our Group Site Rates pages for group site maximum occupancy limits.

    Organized Events
    • Organized sporting/competitive/group events require proper insurance coverage and must be pre-approved. No Grad parties, Raves or Festivals are permitted.
How Many Tents/Trailers can I fit on a Site?
    • The number of tents/trailers/vehicles will vary depending on the size of the tents/trailers/vehicles and which campsite you choose.
Please check the campsite descriptions provided on each individual Campground Page, to see a size description. From that description you will have to make an educated guess if your tents/trailers will fit. We can not answer all the emails asking if your tents/trailers will fit.
    • All of our campsites allow tents to camp on them, however not all sites will allow trailers. The campsites that list a trailer size is to simply indicate the maximum size trailer that is suitable for that site. This also gives you a good indication what size and how many tents will fit in the site. A site that says it will fit a large trailer, if you have a small tent, the site may be oversized for your needs. We request that you choose a site that is appropriate for your camping needs, if you do not need a large trailer site, we ask that you not take it unless there are no other sites available. By taking a site larger than what you need, you may prevent a camper who needs the larger site, the opportunity to camp. Thank you for your consideration.
    Trailer Sizes
    • Small Trailers are up to 18’ in length.
    • Medium Trailers are up to 24’ in length.
    • Large Trailers are up to 27’ in length.
    • Extra Large Trailers are up to 42′ in length
    • Vehicles may have to be disconnected from trailers in order for vehicle and trailer to both fit in your site

  • Long Weekend Rate

3 Night Holiday Rate applies to All Long Weekends for First Come First Serve and Reservations.

If you are making a reservation and only reserve 2 nights on a Long Weekend, the system will automatically charge you the 3 night Holiday Rate. This will NOT automatically change your reserved dates. Your reservation is only for the dates you choose, regardless of how many nights you are charged for due to minimum charge requirements.

Long Weekend Holiday Rate applies to the campsite itself (First Come First Serve and/or Reservations).
Extra Vehicles to an already occupied site, will only pay for the nights they plan to camp.

Recreation Sites and Trails BC (RSTBC) recognizes the need to manage our recreational sites for the recreating public. Due to the increased pressures associated with long weekend camping availability, the Chilliwack Forest District RSTBC has chosen to implement a 3 Night Holiday Rate for All Long Weekends (as outlined below) regardless if you stay all 3 nights or not.

    • When the Statutory Holiday falls on a Friday, the 3 Night Holiday Fee will be for Thurs, Fri and Sat nights.
    • When the Statutory Holiday falls on a Monday, the 3 Night Holiday Fee will be for Fri, Sat and Sun nights.
    • When a statutory holiday falls on any other day than a Friday or a Monday, no 3 Night Holiday Fee applies.

For recreational campsites, the 3 Night Holiday Rate applies to the following holidays for each calendar year:

For FCFS sites, the weekends tend to fill quickly starting anywhere from Thursday to Friday night. However, going into a long weekend we have been known to be full by Tuesday or Wednesday evenings. During the week, availability is better but not guaranteed.

FCFS campers can arrive anytime from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm to check-in to available campsites.

    • Keep your pets quiet and under control at all times.
    • must remain in close proximity to their owner and/or on the owners camping site
    • excessive noise is not permitted
    • Owners must pick up after their pets. Please see camp host to dispose of poop bags (do not place in outhouses), please take home when ever possible.

Please do not allow your pets to dig holes in the campground.

Owners are responsible for picking up after their pets.

  • Road Conditions

To access all of our campgrounds except Chehalis River or Chehalis River Group Site, you will need to travel along a gravel/dirt Forest Service logging roads that may be rough and have potholes.

Forest Service Roads (FSR) are not maintained by us. It is up to the logging companies to maintain and repair these roads.

Thousands of people travel these roads all the time and therefore we do not know the road conditions at any given time as it changes daily depending on the weather and usage.

We do have many people who drive their cars, trucks and trailers, to all of our campgrounds.
4 Wheel Drive is recommended especially if you are towing a trailer.

We can not guarantee your vehicle’s ability to travel logging roads, nor do we provide refunds if your vehicle is not suitable to access the campground.

Weaver Lake, North Weaver Group and South Weaver Group, we HIGHLY recommended 4 Wheel Drive, due to the steep nature and rough condition of the Forest Service Road. Towing a trailer to Weaver Lake campground or Weaver groups sites may be difficult for many vehicles.

Chehalis River and Chehalis River Group Site are an exception, and they are both located just off the pavement and you are not required to travel on any FSR.

  • Site Availability

In our Campgrounds, we reserve up to 65% of our sites, the other 35% are available for First Come First Serve (FCFS) campers.

Wood Lake ONLY, allows up to 100% reservations. Any sites not reserved, will be available to FCFS.
Grace Lake is 100% First Come First Serve, reservations are not taken for this campground.

All Group Sites are 100% Reservation Only and are not open for First Come First Serve campers.

    Reservations

For Reservations, please check the online reservation calendar for availability.
Reservation holder can check-in after 2pm.

First Come First Serve Campers (FCFS)

For FCFS there is no way to determine the availability unless you arrive at the campground.
We do not have real time communications with each of the campgrounds and are unable to provide updated availability reports because available sites change every minute with check in and check outs.

For FCFS sites, the weekends tend to fill quickly starting anywhere from Thursday to Friday night. However, going into a long weekend we have been known to be full by Tuesday or Wednesday evenings. During the week, availability is better but not guaranteed.

Campground gates may be locked from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am at the camp hosts discretion.

FCFS campers can arrive anytime from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm to check-in to available campsites.
The earlier you arrive the better your chance to get a site.

FCFS campers and extra vehicles must pay CASH upon arrival (debit and credit cards can not be accepted at the campgrounds).

  • Problems Making a Reservation

  • Are Reservations Sold Out for the Entire Year?

If you are checking for campsite availability in one of our campgrounds but seeing all red (sold out) on the reservation calendar, you may be looking at the default site which is “Pick Your Site # Here“. This can not be booked, therefore it will show as all red.

Please choose a site number from the drop-down menu in order to view the availability for the site number you choose. As you change the site number, the availability calendar will change accordingly.

If this is not the issue, then possibly you are trying to make a reservation for a date that our reservations are sold out or the campground is closed.

  • My Check-out Date is More than 30 Days from Today, Can I still Reserve it

As long as your arrival date is 30 days or less from the day you are making your reservation, then you will be able to book your entire stay up to 14 nights max stay.

When making your reservation, the From date is your Check-in date and the To date is the date you will be checking out.

Please use the calendar BELOW the dates to select your Arrival and Departure Dates, or manually enter your dates.
Do not use the calendar beside the dates (it will not allow you to book an end date past 30 days).

This 30 day rule does not apply to Group Sites.

  • Not Able to Make a Reservation 4 Days or Less Prior to your Arrival Date

No reservations can be made 4 days or less, prior to your arrival date.

People are checking in and out of sites all the time, this is why we have a 4-day cut off, otherwise we would have people making reservations at the same time as people are checking in to a site and then we would have double bookings.

Due to no reservations being made with in 4 days of your arrival date, this may increase the number of sites available to FCFS campers due to last minute cancellations.

    Also see:
When can I make a reservation

  • Reserved 1 Night, but was Charged for More

If you reserved one night, but were charged for more, please check your reservation confirmation email.
You may have been charged a Weekend Minimum charge or Long Weekend Minimum charge.
Please also note there is a Reservation Fee charged on all reservations made?

If you have checked all of the above and still feel you were charged incorrectly, please send us an email with your reservation number, via the Contact Us form.

  • Shopping Cart Does Not Hold Your Site While Making Your Reservation

Our reservation system does not remove the site from inventory until full payment is received.
Therefore if you select a site, there may be a chance that someone else is in the process of finalizing their reservation for the same site and when you enter your payment information and select checkout, the site may be no longer available.

If we were to pull the site from inventory as soon as you put the item in your cart, everyone would simply place items in their cart hours before they are able to book simply so that no one else could book it. As well we might have people who open several windows and put multiple items into carts while they try to decide which campsite they may want. It only takes four or five people to do this and when someone goes on to look for what sites are available, all site would be showing red as if they are reserved because they are being held by someone.

  • What Does it Mean When a Day is Half Green and Half Red on the Reservation Calendar?

Check-out time is at noon, so our reservation calendar may show a calendar day as half green and half red depending on arrival and departure of campers.

The green part of a day can be reserve, the red part of the day is already reserved.

If the first half of a day is red and the second half is green, this means that a reservation will be checking out at noon that day, therefore you would be able to make a reservation to arrive that day.

If the first half of a day is green and the second half is red, this means that a reservation is arriving that day, therefore you can make a reservation up to that day (you can have this as your check-out date). You will not be able to reserve that night.

  • Why are there Reservations More than 30 Days from Today?

Reservations in our Campgrounds can be made up to 30 Days in advance of your Arrival Date.

The 30 days (not a month) is prior to your arrival date not your check-out date, so people who will be arriving on Tuesday, are able to book a couple days earlier than those arriving on Friday.

As well, some people will be staying for up to 14 nights and their check out date is more than 30 days from today.

Reserving extra days in advance of your actual arrival date so that you can have an upper hand to reserve before others, is not allowed and may result in your reservation being cancelled and no refund provided.
Please make sure you have read our No Show Policy.

Reservations in our Group Sites, can be made anytime in the same calendar year that camping will take place, therefore the 30 day rule does not apply to Group Sites.

  • Why is the Reservation Calendar All Red?

If you are checking for campsite availability in one of our campgrounds but seeing all red (sold out) on the reservation calendar, you may be looking at the default site which is “Pick Your Site # Here“. This can not be booked, therefore it will show as all red.
