Most Popular FAQs
Are Reservations Sold Out?
If you are checking for campsite availability in one of our campgrounds but seeing all red (sold out) on the reservation calendar, you may be looking at the default site which is “Pick Your Site # Here”. This can not be booked, therefore it will show as all red.
Please choose a site number from the drop-down menu in order to view the availability for the site number you choose. As you change the site number, the availability calendar will change accordingly.
If this is not the issue, then possibly you are trying to make a reservation for a date that our reservations are sold out or the campground is closed.
Campsite Must Be Occupied Overnight
Please remember that your site must be occupied overnight for the purpose of camping.
Parking a vehicle in one site and camping in another site does not comply with our policy. You must be camping in your site.
Holding a site for someone else or leaving a tent or trailer in a site unattended overnight is NOT permitted even if the site is paid for.
A person who camps at our campground or group site where a fee for camping is required, must:
(a) camp in a campsite;
(b) occupy only one campsite;
(c) not leave personal property on a campsite unless the person is camping, under the authority arising from payment of the camping fee, at that campsite, or has been authorized to leave the property on the campsite by a Site Host or Manager.Any personal property or recreational vehicles that are left on site for the purpose of site-claiming may be removed or towed, at the owners expense.
Any camping fees paid, will be considered forfeit and no refund will be provided. Also see:

Can I Pay Now and Come Back Later to Camp? Can I Make a Reservation for Earlier than I Plan to Camp?
NO. Reserved sites must be occupied by the reservation holder, starting on the arrival date listed on the reservation, and the site must remain occupied by the reservation holder for the entire duration of the reservation.
You cannot setup a tent or park a trailer and then come back at a later date. Can I Pay Now and Come Back Later to Camp?
When you arrive and pay your camping fees, you must be prepared to start camping immediately.
You are not allowed to arrive, pay for a site and then leave to get your camping unit (tent/RV). This is considered to be Site Claiming, and is not permitted.
You are not allowed to leave personal property on a campsite unless the person is camping. Placing personal property in a campsite to claim it is not considered to be occupying the site for the purpose of camping. Anyone found doing this, your property will be removed (at the owners expense), your camping permit will be voided and no refund will be provided.
Can I reserve past 30 Days
In our Campgrounds, as long as your arrival date is 30 days or less from the day you are making your reservation, then you will be able to book your entire stay up to 14 nights max stay.
In our Group Sites, this 30 day rule does not apply. Group Sites can be booked anytime in the same calendar year that camping will take place.

- Self Contained CSA-rated or ULC-rated cooking stoves that use gas, propane or briquettes
- Unaltered CSA or ULC approved Propane Fire Pits, so long as the height of the flame is less than 15 centimetres, unless otherwise determined by the Wildfire Regulations.
NOT PERMITTED During a fire ban:

- NO Candles or Tiki Torches
- Briquettes are NOT allowed to be burned in our fire rings. They are only permitted in a portable, self contained CSA or ULC approved apparatus.
- NO Fireworks – Fireworks are never allowed in our campgrounds or group sites
Please check the gov. website for updates regarding Fire Bans (we are located in the Coastal District)
https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/safety/wildfire-status/fire-bans-and-restrictionsHow Many People/Tents/Trailers/Vehicles per Campsite
Please see each individual Campground or Group Site Page for list of campsite sizes and Tent/Trailer/RV max size limits.

- All camping items must be contained within the developed portion of your campsite.

- The original permit/reservation holder is responsible for ALL their guest.
- All extra vehicles not included in your camping or reservation fees, must pay cash upon arrival for a overnight/camping permit. (see Rates for more information).
Choosing an Appropriate Site
- We request that you choose a site that is appropriate for your camping needs. If you have two vehicles camping together, and can comfortably fit in one single site and will not surpass the max occupancy limit, please only take a single site instead of a double site or two individual sites. This will allow another family the opportunity to camp. Thank you for your consideration.
How Many People Can I have on a Site?
- Single Campsite max site occupancy 6 people on campsite (fee includes first vehicle)
- Double Campsite max site occupancy 12 people on campsite (fee includes first 2 vehicles)

How Many Tents/Trailers can I fit on a Site?
- The number of tents/trailers/vehicles will vary depending on the size of the tents/trailers/vehicles and which campsite you choose.
Please check the campsite descriptions provided on each individual Campground Page, to see a size description. From that description you will have to make an educated guess if your tents/trailers will fit. We can not answer all the emails asking if your tents/trailers will fit. - All of our campsites allow tents to camp on them, however not all sites will allow trailers. The campsites that list a trailer size is to simply indicate the maximum size trailer that is suitable for that site. This also gives you a good indication what size and how many tents will fit in the site. A site that says it will fit a large trailer, if you have a small tent, the site may be oversized for your needs. We request that you choose a site that is appropriate for your camping needs, if you do not need a large trailer site, we ask that you not take it unless there are no other sites available. By taking a site larger than what you need, you may prevent a camper who needs the larger site, the opportunity to camp. Thank you for your consideration.

- Medium Trailers are up to 24’ in length.
- Large Trailers are up to 27’ in length.

You can find our No Show Policy at: https://www.westharrisonreservations.com/no-show-policy/
Not Able to Make a Reservation 4 Days or Less Prior to your Arrival Date
No reservations can be made 4 days or less, prior to your arrival date.
People are checking in and out of sites all the time, this is why we have a 4-day cut off, otherwise we would have people making reservations at the same time as people are checking in to a site and then we would have double bookings.
Due to no reservations being made with in 4 days of your arrival date, this may increase the number of sites available to FCFS campers due to last minute cancellations.
Policy Exceptions
NO exceptions will be made to our policies (cancel/refund/no-show/reservations).
This includes, but not limited to: errors when making a reservation, campground evictions, inclement weather, air quality, personal reasons, medical reasons, vehicle problems, vacating your campsite early, etc.
The only time we will make an exception to our cancellation and refund policy, is if we are required to close a campground and/or group site.
See our policies at:
Road Conditions
To access all of our campgrounds and group sites (except Chehalis River Camppground or Chehalis River Group Site), you will need to travel along a gravel/dirt Forest Service logging roads that may be rough and have potholes.
Forest Service Roads (FSR) are not maintained by us. It is up to the logging companies to maintain and repair these roads.
Thousands of people travel these roads all the time and therefore we do not know the road conditions at any given time as it changes daily depending on the weather and usage.
We have many people who drive their cars, trucks and trailers, to all of our campgrounds and group sites.
4 Wheel Drive is recommended especially if you are towing a trailer. We can not guarantee your vehicle’s ability to travel logging roads, nor do we provide refunds if your vehicle is not suitable to access the campground or group site.
Weaver Lake Campground, North Weaver Group Site and South Weaver Group Site, we HIGHLY recommended 4 Wheel Drive, due to the steep nature and rough condition of the Forest Service Road. Towing a trailer to Weaver Lake campground or Weaver groups sites may be difficult for many vehicles.
Chehalis River Campground and Chehalis River Group Site are an exception, and they are both located just off the pavement and you are not required to travel on any FSR.

Mice and Raccoons
Mice and racoons can be found at all of our campgrounds/group sites. Please keep your site clean so that you don’t attract them.

- Any item associated with food prep or clean-up (dish rags, scrubbers, pots, pans, etc.)

FCFS campers can arrive anytime from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm to check-in to available campsites.
Reservations
The most popular campsites (all sites during the summer months), are quite often booked back to back and we need time to check the site to ensure it is ready for the next camper. With many campers all checking-out at noon, reservation holders might not be able to check-in early. If you have a reservation, please do not arrive at the campground prior to 2 pm.
Group Sites
For Group Sites, early check-in is not available. We can not offer an early check-in for any of our group sites.
Quite often group sites are booked back to back and we need to wait for the previous camper to check out and return the key, then the host needs to check the site to ensure it is ready for the next camper.
As well our hosts have other duties and obligations prior to 2 pm and we can not guarantee anyone will be available prior to 2 pm to issue out the gate key.
I’m sorry we can not honor request for an early key pick up.Day Use and Visitor Fees

Reservations
(a) camp in a campsite;
(b) occupy only one campsite;

You cannot setup a tent or park a trailer and then come back at a later date.
Do not use the calendar beside the dates (it will not allow you to book an end date past 30 days).
Please use the calendar below the date to select you Arrival and Departure Dates, or manually enter your dates.

Changing to a Different Campsite Number
Once a camping permit is issued, if a more desirable site becomes available, the fees can not be transferred and you will have to pay again if you choose to change sites.
Camping permits are Non-Transferable and Non-Refundable.
Reservations are Non-Transferable and can not be changed.
How Many People/Tents/Trailers/Vehicles per Campsite
Please see each individual Campground or Group Site Page for list of campsite sizes and Tent/Trailer/RV max size limits.
Restrictions on the number of vehicles, people/tents/trailers/vehicles per site vary because all sites are different sizes and can accommodate a different number of vehicles/people.
- All camping items must be contained within the developed portion of your campsite.
- The host is allowed to restrict the number of campers in a site if they feel that noise will become an issue or if the site is becoming overcrowded.
- Triple Campsite max site occupancy 18 people on campsite (fee includes first 3 vehicles)
Please see our Group Site Rates for group site maximum occupancy limits.
Organized Events
- Organized sporting/competitive/group events require proper insurance coverage and must be pre-approved. No Grad parties, Raves or Festivals are permitted.
Trailer Sizes
- Small Trailers are up to 18’ in length.
- Medium Trailers are up to 24’ in length.
- Large Trailers are up to 27’ in length.
- Extra Large Trailers are up to 42′ in length
Vehicles may have to be disconnected from trailers in order for vehicle and trailer to both fit in your site.

Shopping Cart Does Not Hold Your Site While Making Your Reservation
Our reservation system does not remove the site from inventory until full payment is received.
Therefore if you select a site, there may be a chance that someone else is in the process of finalizing their reservation for the same site and when you enter your payment information and select checkout, the site may be no longer available. If we were to pull the site from inventory as soon as you put the item in your cart, everyone would simply place items in their cart hours before they are able to book simply so that no one else could book it. As well we might have people who open several windows and put multiple items into carts while they try to decide which campsite they may want. It only takes four or five people to do this and when someone goes on to look for what sites are available, all site would be showing red as if they are reserved because they are being held by someone.

Why are there Reservations More than 30 Days from Today?
Campground Reservations
Reservations in our Campgrounds can be made up to 30 Days in advance of your Arrival Date.
The 30 days (not a month) is prior to your arrival date not your check-out date, so people who will be arriving on Tuesday, are able to book a couple days earlier than those arriving on Friday.
As well, some people will be staying for up to 14 nights and their check out date is more than 30 days from today.
Reserving extra days in advance of your actual arrival date so that you can have an upper hand to reserve before others, is not allowed and may result in your reservation being cancelled and no refund provided.
Please make sure you have read our Reservation Policy.Group Site Reservations
Reservations in our Group Sites, can be made anytime in the same calendar year that camping will take place, therefore the 30 day rule does not apply to Group Sites.
Why is the Reservation Calendar All Red?
If you are checking for campsite availability in one of our campgrounds or group sites, but seeing all red (sold out) on the reservation calendar, you may be looking at the default site which is “Pick Your Site # Here”.
